I must say that today in Michigan it’s partly cloudy with a stiff Northwest wind and it’s 60 degrees Fahrenheit. I’m really thinking this is the perfect preview for early fall and is getting me in the mood for some grouse hunting. What pairs well with grouse hunting…I’m thinking a Spinone!

With that in mind we recently bred larch to her new brown and white mate Blue Del Caos of Rio Wisconsin. Blue is a beautiful boy with substance and a great personality to boot. We shall see if the breeding takes and if all goes the pups will be due approximately on 10-29-2010. We will be taking deposits for the puppies eventually and will let you know when we will be accepting them. If you have interest in this litter be sure to email me at kyle@birdsborodogs.com. I have been working hard on the website. Today I’m launching the Birdsboro Owner’s Group (B.O.G.)! OK…so far it’s only a category on our blog, but it will be more eventually. Until then check out the category to get all the of the updates on what your dogs relatives are doing at their new homes. I’ll admit it we needed to get some more pictures of Larch up and we have been taking them, but at the same time they were also stockpiling up so I finally got around to getting them done. So here we go and enjoy our girl. I’ll be getting these put on her page as well. One final note is that Larch is indeed in heat and she will be bred this time around, but official details will follow soon. Until then enjoy the pics.

I know, it’s been awhile since I posted anything on our website. What can I say other than I hope to make up for this with some really nice pics of the pups. We went on a small vacation recently and had the pups stay with a friend and owner of one of the pups from Brett’s first. Layla turned out to be a great dog and her owner did an awesome job raising her and taking care of our puppies. Thanks to her for all of the pictures. The rest of you can enjoy them now as well.

Juno Goes Home! 7-30-2010

Juno went home to her new owners on Friday and it is quite evident by the picture strip below that she is settling in nicely. Emily and Jarl are a great home, seeing as this will be the third Pointer they got from us I think they like the breed. I’m sure they will enjoy her laid back but outgoing attitude in the house and the bird fields! There are still four puppies ready to go to qualified homes. So if you are interested in a puppy please see our website.

Introducing the “Movie” Theme Litter at 8 weeks… aren’t they just lovely! And they have wonderful personalities to fit those cute little faces too.

Here’s the list of pups that are still available and their associated pics. As an added bonus to all of those already getting a puppy they get to see their pups too! Jane and Tommy, got to go home yesterday (7/14). Daisy will be going home July 23. Finn and Juno will be going home in early August.

The puppies have been getting a substantial amount of outdoor time in their 1/2 acre fenced in area (in addition to the time in their puppy pen, the kitchen, and the living room of course) and the tree they have been hanging out under (it has become their clubhouse) has left some sap on them as is shown by all of the dark spots on them in their pictures (excluding black patches of course ).

Puppy Independence Day – 7-4-2010

Here they are…the long awaited (or not so long awaited) pics and videos from the Fourth! We made the puppy area a lot bigger, because the puppies are getting so big and active it’s just plain hard to keep them confined. With that said, they still spend ample time piled on top of one another sleeping the day away. When they are up and playing they are ready to go! Please note the high stepping in the videos. The pups like to get underfoot and have no problems swarming your feet as you walk.

The pups can definitely be camera hogs, but they also enjoy the fresh vegetation.

They also enjoy playing in the shade.

I would say that puppies are somewhat flashy.

It sometimes get hard to walk with the swarms of puppies and all.

Ah that water tasted good.

The cool grass is in enjoyable in the shade.

That's right you've been spotted.

Training Day – 7-1-2010

So the other day when it was actually nice out here in Michigan we decided to take the young Pointers out for a training day. Andre, Guster and August all piled into the Pilot with Erin and Killian and we took off for our day. I’m happy to report all animals had fun including the dogs! Since it was a training session though some of the Tenessee Red Quail were able to avoid an untimely demise and the dogs enjoyed a blank gun instead of the shotgun. However, August and Guster who have a little bit more experience under their belts than Andre did get a bird shot over them. The whole dead bird thing is kind of a new concept to them but they are warming up nicely to it though.

We finally got some pics of Andre on point and he definitely shines.

We have been taking pics left and right of the puppies and we realized that we have so many that we had to do a little “whittling down” if you will. So here are the best that we came up up with.
