Nursery Rhyme Pointer Litter – DOB May 28, 2016

Birdsboro Yaba “Maude”, our wonderful orange and white girl, was bred to a lovely black and white Pointer named Ch Kinnike Heywood “Heywood”. As is true of all of our breedings, both parents are magnificent pets (good with kids, cats, other dogs, etc) and hunters. Both dogs have had hip radiographs which appear good/excellent (but have not been submitted to OFA for review due to their young age when they were taken). This breeding was an outcross breeding. Our goal was to choose a Pointer from an unrelated line that had the same wonderful traits our breeding dogs have as far as correct conformation, temperament, health, and hunting ability. Maude had a HUGE litter of 12 puppies. Due to the large litter size, we ended up needing to take her in for a c-section, and fortunately 10 of the puppies survived and mom did great.

Maude had 5 black and white boys, 1 orange and white boy, 2 black and white girls, and 2 orange and white girls. We have one puppy available, who is ready to go home now.

The theme for this litter is Nursery Rhymes! We are asking each family to choose a nursery rhyme for their puppy’s registered name. For example, Birdsboro Jack Be Nimble, Birdsboro Georgie Porgie, etc. The registered name can have something to do with the call name, or be unrelated.  In the meantime, rather than call the puppies boy 1, boy 2, etc… we named them after Peter Pan characters.  These are just temporary names and we completely expect their new families to change them.

All of the puppies have gone home to their new families. We are thrilled to see many of these puppies going into homes with their relatives. Their families loved their Pointers so much, that they came back for another! Wendy went to live with her great aunt, Mr Smee (now Dan) gets to live with his big brother from Heywood’s first litter, Noodler (now Stuart) gets to live with a family that has had his relatives for years, and Hook gets to live with his great grandpa and father, and of course Lily (now Oona) gets to stay here at Birdsboro with her family.

All of the puppies in this litter have been placed
