Spinone Litter Zeppe x Bruno, born June 14, 2018

Birdsboro Zeppoli “Zeppe” x Birdsboro Tawny Browed Owl “Bruno” (note that Bruno was registered with the AKC as Bruno II but is from our owl litter and this was his original name)

We are proud to announce the arrival of Zeppe’s (Birdsboro Zeppoli) first litter. The proud daddy is Bruno (Birdsboro Tawny Browed Owl, who is registered as Bruno II with the AKC).

We are thrilled that three of the puppies are going home with families that already have Birdsboro Spinoni!  They needed to get white and orange puppies to complement their brown roans.

The only puppy available (as of 9/16/18) is Compass.  She is the second smallest puppy in the litter, but given her current size, we are expecting her to be smaller than the average Spinone at 45-55 lbs.  Here are a couple pictures of her at 3 months old (taken 9/16/18).  There are more pictures and two videos of her on our Facebook page.

The rest of the pictures are of the puppies at 7 weeks old.  All but Leo have now gone home.

Compass (brown roan girl) is available

Venus (orange and white girl) has a family

Orion (brown roan boy) has a family

Vega (orange and white girl) has a family

Dipper (brown roan girl) has a family

North (orange and white boy) has a family

Sirius (brown roan boy) has a family

Leo (orange and white boy) has a family

Cosmos (orange and white boy) has a family

Note that this is the last white litter we have planned for some time (maybe forever?), so if you are hoping for a white Birdsboro Spinone, this may be your last opportunity.  We are planning to focus on brown roan in the future.

Zeppe is 3 1/2 years old and Bruno is 2 years old.  Bruno lives with his wonderful family and has an active life of outdoor activities, playing with his kids, and hunting.  He was the pick male in his litter and we were able to keep him in the Birdsboro breeding program through our co-ownership program.  We are grateful for his family for this.  We got the pleasure of dog sitting him for the five days he was here for breeding and he was a perfect gentleman with our kids, cats, and all of our dogs (including our smaller ones).

This may be Zeppe’s only litter as we only breed our girls one or two times.  Both parents have had hip radiographs done prior to the breeding.  Both parents are from Cerebellar Ataxia free lines.  These puppies will be wonderful family companions, and some will also make great hunting buddies if you are interested in that.

Puppies should be ready to go home at 9 weeks in mid-August.

As we have done in all of our litters for the past five years, puppies will have their dewclaws and tails left intact.

We do have a few puppies available from this litter. Here is a picture just after the last puppy was born. Zeppe is a doting mother.
